Pretoria - A Pretoria woman whose fiancé broke off their engagement has gone to court to claim back her contribution to their living expenses, it was reported on Friday.

Wanda Moller, 28, sued her ex Anthony Potgieter, 25, for R1.33 million in the Pretoria High Court, but they later reached a settlement which was made an order of the court, Beeld reported.

According to the newspaper, the settlement stated that Moller would withdraw her claim.

She would keep her townhouse in Centurion, and would buy Potgieter's share for R60 000. He could collect his furniture and other property. Each would pay their own legal fees.

In court papers, Moller said they agreed on September 25, 2010, to marry, but Potgieter told her on June 18, 2011, that he did not want to anymore. She claimed he was involved with another woman, but he denied this.

Moller said she had gone through emotional trauma and depression, and had to be medicated.

She claimed to have spent more than R30 000 on wedding arrangements, that her career advancement had taken a R100 000 knock, and that she had incurred R500 000 in damage to her dignity and status. - Sapa
