George Makgetla, 36, Godfrey Malepe, 19, and Daniel Mokgosi, 26, were each released on R500 bail and their case was postponed to September 4 for investigation.

They were arrested on August 19, following a spate of public violence incidents at Dikhibidung informal settlement in Rustenburg.

A fourth man, Tshegofatso Mangole, 32, appeared in court on Friday and was granted bail of R300.

Mangole was arrested on August 16, for public violence in Dikhibidung.

They were part of a group of residents who allegedly burnt and damaged properties in the area.

The violence erupted after a meeting, that the community attended with local municipality representatives, failed to reach consensus on August 5.

Members of the community allegedly demanding to be employed at the local sewerage plant.

They allegedly burnt two municipal trucks, a park home, an ambulance and pelted a municipal car with stones.
