Manila - A French man jumped to his death in a shopping mall in the Philippine capital shortly after he rushed out of a restaurant without paying his bill, police said Wednesday.
Jean Louis Battail jumped late on Tuesday from the fourth floor of the Robinson's Place Mall in central Manila and hit the ground floor head first, dying instantaneously.
Police officer Lester Evangelista said Battail dashed out of a restaurant after a server presented him a 4 000-peso ($91.50) bill for his meal.
Evangelista said the victim was being chased by a restaurant employee when he suddenly jumped. -
