Harrismith - Five men were arrested on the Harrismith highway on Friday for cable theft, Free State police said.

“Police were patrolling on the N3 when they saw a suspicious car and stopped it to search,” said Sergeant Mmako Mophiring.

Police recovered 14 rolls of stolen copper wire worth an estimated R90 000.

The men were expected to appear in the Harrismith Magistrate's Court on Monday.
