Grade 7 learners are invited to a free two-day Coding and Robotics Boot Camp taking place at Curro Foreshore and Curro Delft next month.
The two schools will be offering free sessions to 30 learners on 1 and 2 October.
The sessions will be divided into two, for both the beginners and the experienced learners.
Organisers say participants will get certificates and there will be lots of prizes up for grabs.
JP Le Roux, the Executive Head at Curro Foreshore, says coding and robotics is the future and the boot camp aims to make a difference in communities.
“It is essential for our next generation of leaders to have these critical new skill sets and develop their mindsets to be future ready,” he says.
“Boot campers will be taught by highly qualified teachers how to build robotics kits, problem-solve, engage with drones while also teaching them algorithm-coding and applying advanced mathematics and science.
“The course is introductory level and is open to anyone in Grade 7, even if they have not been exposed to coding or robotics before.”
He says at the end of the programmes, learners will be encouraged to give feedback by means of a questionnaire to establish if the sessions were fun, interesting and educational.
