Hawks nab alleged KZN hitmen in Joburg

Johannesburg - Directorate For Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) members in KwaZulu-Natal Newcastle said on Monday that two suspects aged 32 have been arrested for a murder at Ikasi Lounge in Section 1, Madadeni Township.

Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo said on 8 May 2016 at about 21:30 the suspects allegedly entered the Ikasi Lounge and opened fire towards the victims fatally wounding Wandile Ngubeni (28). Another person was injured and taken to hospital for medical attention.

“A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at Madadeni Police Station and a thoroughly investigation was conducted and Hawks members followed-up information that led them to Johannesburg where the two were hiding,” said Mhlongo.

Mhlongo said after the suspects were apprehended they were brought back to KwaZulu-Natal, where they were formally charged and they will appear in the Madadeni Magistrates' Court on Monday.
