Johannesburg - The Hawks on Friday would not confirm it was searching for Nelson Mandela's grandson in connection with an ongoing fraud probe relating to Aurora Empowerment Systems.

"We are investigating every bit of the allegations already in the public arena," Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

"There are people we are looking for. We can confirm that but we don't name them."

On Thursday, ENCA reported that it had reliably learnt that Aurora managing director Zondwa Mandela was being sought by the Hawks for a statement.

This related to a 2010 shares deal between Aurora and Labat Africa involving R5.3 million.

According to the report, the Hawks searched for Mandela at the Nelson Mandela Foundation's offices and the late former president's home in Houghton, Johannesburg.
