Johannesburg - The bail application of Czech businessman Radovan Krejcir and three co-accused is set to resume on Wednesday in the Palm Ridge Regional Court.

Krejcir, Desai Luphondo and two members of specialist police unit the Hawks - Samuel Modise Maropeng and George Jeff Nthoroane - face charges of kidnapping, assault and attempted murder.

Krejcir's wife Katerina Krejcirova and son Dennis sat in court quietly as they waited for proceedings to start.

Krejcirova wore a black leather jacket, jeans, high heels and carried a cream-white designer bag.

Her husband wore a T-shirt and black jacket and jeans, and stood in the dock with his co-accused.

Krejcir, arrested on November 22, and Luphondo appeared in the same court last Monday, when proceedings were held in camera for security reasons and postponed for further investigation.

Nthoroane, 46, and Maropeng, 41, appeared briefly in the same court last Wednesday after being arrested on Tuesday. - Sapa
