Cape Town - Charges of assault and malicious damage to property have been laid against EFF leader Julius Malema after an alleged road rage incident, a report says.
According to a Beeld report, police have confirmed that the charges were laid after a Polokwane man was allegedly slapped and his vehicle damaged.
Beeld reported that Bernard Redelinghuys wrote on Facebook that he was driving when Malema and two other people in a vehicle turned and almost hit him.
Redelinghuis reportedly said that he had told them to watch out but at the traffic lights Malema and the two men got out.
During a scuffle one of the men allegedly pulled Redelinghuis’s arm while the other allegedly tried to take his key out of his car.
According to the report, Malema told Redelinghuis, “We’ll f*** you up and slapped him.
