Katlehong, Gauteng - A man was arrested after being found in a stolen motor vehicle at Mopeli in Katlehong on Monday, Ekurhuleni metro police said.

The vehicle was stolen from Vosloorus Extension 25 on Sunday, said Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago.

“The vehicle was stolen after its owner left it on and unattended while he went into his house to collect something undisclosed,” he said.

The man then sought assistance from the Ekurhuleni Kathorus crime prevention unit after registering a case with police.

A 25-year-old man was found seated in the vehicle when it was tracked down by members of the unit.

He was expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Tuesday to face a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. - Sapa
