Cape Town - SUNDAY

l National day of prayer and reflection

l The City of Cape Town will host a special council meeting for elected representatives to pay tribute to Madiba.

l The ANC’s Dullah Omar region will host a prayer service at the Rocklands Civic Centre in Mitchells Plain from 1.30pm.

l An inter-faith service will be hosted at the Grand Parade from 5pm.

MONDAY

l An evening of remembrance will be held at the OR Tambo Hall in Khayelitsha from 7pm.

TUESDAY

l Madiba’s memorial service will start at 11am at the FNB Stadium in Joburg, with a live screening at the Grand Parade.

WEDNESDAY

l Mandela’s body will lie in state at the Union Buildings in Pretoria until Friday.

l The city’s own memorial service will be held at the Cape Town Stadium from 4pm. Gates open at 4pm. Free coupons are available from Computicket and Shoprite stores.

THURSDAY

l An evening of remembrance will be held at the Wesfleur Civic Centre in Atlantis from 7pm.

SATURDAY

l Madiba’s body will leave Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria for Qunu. A night vigil will be hosted at the Grand Parade from 5pm.

NEXT SUNDAY

l Madiba’s funeral service will be held in Qunu, with a live screening at the Grand Parade. - Sunday Argus
