Mthatha, Eastern Cape - Sixteen applicants on Friday launched an urgent interdict in the Mthatha High Court against Mandla Mandela, the Eastern Cape premier and the health MEC.

“Due to the sensitivities of the issue, the case has been held in camera,” said lawyer Wesley Heyns.

“We can't say anything further.”

The Herald online in Port Elizabeth reported that attorneys representing the Mandela family would bring an application to the court to have the remains of former president Nelson Mandela's three children and two other relatives, understood to be his siblings, returned to Qunu.

They were reportedly removed from Qunu and reburied in Mvezo, where Mandla Mandela is chief.
