Makhado - Three scrap yard mechanics appeared in the Makhado Magistrate's Court on Monday for allegedly being in possession of stolen cars and car parts, Limpopo police said.

Waspa Majiri, 21, Fulufhelo Malada, 28, and Takalani Tshaamano, 23, were each granted R2000 bail, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

Mulaudzi said they would be back in court on April 30.

They were arrested on Saturday at a scrapyard dubbed the “BMW Specialist” just outside Makhado.

The scrapyard owner was still being sought.

“Seven BMW vehicles whose value is estimated to be several millions of rands which were reported stolen in Sandton, Pinetown, Meadowlands, Cape Town Central, Durban Central, as well as Mamelodi East, were found at the scrapyard with engines and other body parts removed,” he said.

Police also found over 50 BMW engines and doors on the premises. - Sapa
