Cape Town - A Nigerian man, 36, was arrested at Cape Town International Airport for allegedly smuggling a large amount of drugs into the city.
Police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk said the suspect was on the last flight to Cape Town from Joburg on Thursday night.
“He was arrested on his arrival after his luggage was searched. The drugs were concealed in a false compartment in his suitcase.”
Van Wyk said 4kg of methamphetamine (tik) with an estimated street value of more than R1.1 million and 250 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of R71 925 were found in his possession.
