Polokwane - Nine people died in separate road accidents on Limpopo roads late on Friday night and early on Saturday morning, Limpopo police said.
"The first accident happened late last night [Friday] at Mukula village in Vhembe when two sedans collided head on following unsafe overtaking and two people died on impact," Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
In another accident four people died at Ximoxoni village when a truck collided with a light delivery vehicle. Three men and one woman died in impact while one sustained critical injuries. Two people sustained serious injuries while six sustained minor injuries.
In Seshego, outside Polokwane, two people died when the driver of the sedan in which they were travelling lost control and the car overturned. The driver and another passenger sustained serious injuries.
A 35-year-old male driver died when a sedan and a bakkie collided head on at Mohodi Ga-Manthata near Dendron. The driver of the sedan and a passenger sustained serious injuries, Ngoepe said.
