Johannesburg - Jailed Paralympian Oscar Pistorius will appeal his increased prison sentence of 13 years and five months at the Constitutional Court, Eye Witness News reported on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court more than doubled Oscar Pistorius' murder sentence last month, accepting prosecutors' argument that the original jail term of six years for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was "shockingly lenient".
The court overturned his six year jail sentence and replaced it with 13 years and five months in November.
According to Judge Willie Seriti, it was an unanimous judgment by all five SCA judges.
Judge Seriti said Pistorius should have been sentenced to the mandatory 15 years, however the judges took into account that he had already served up to a year in prison and that he was out on seven months correctional supervision, which include house arrest.
Pistorius's initial culpable homicide conviction was changed to murder following the State's appeal.
