Pretoria - Civil rights organisation AfriForum is on Wednesday expected to launch a comprehensive campaign against allegations that some members of the Tshwane metro police are abusing their power.

The organisation on Monday said it supported Kymie du Toit and Prof André Thomashausen, who recently allegedly suffered bad conduct by TMPD members. They are expected to tell their stories at the launch.

“In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference will be broadcast live on AfriForum’s Facebook page,” it said.

A recent report indicated residents had the right to record instances where they were stopped by the TMPD. According to the report, this came after complaints against some TMPD officers over their conduct.
