Johannesburg - The ANC has fired one its employees that was arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit heist in Dobsonville, Soweto.
The party plans to also institute disciplinary proceedings against Errol Velile Present who was named as one of the four suspects linked to the heist.
“The ANC on 18th of July 2018, served Errol Velile Present with a letter of summary dismissal from its employ following his arrest and appearance in court on allegations of a number of heinous crimes. The ANC expects from its members and employees to respect the laws of the land and not be involved in any criminal activity," said the party's spokesperson Pule Mabe.
Present and his three co-accused, who have been charged with armed robbery and possession of hijacked vehicles, appeared at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
The court case was postponed to July 31.
