ANC MP Timothy Khoza has been identified as the person killed in an accident involving members of Parliament in Paarl, Cape Town, on Wednesday morning. 

Three other MPs sustained injuries in the accident and have been identified as Nomalungelo Gina of the ANC, Ian Ollis from the DA and the UDM's Cynthia Majeke. 

Khoza died in the accident according to the ANC caucus, Eyewitness News reported.

Khoza was from Mpumalanga.

They were on their way to conduct oversight visits, as part of Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Education,  in the area when their vehicle overturned. 

“The MPs’ vehicle overturned while travelling to Paarl as part of oversight visits to various schools in the area. One of the MPs passed away at the scene. The three other MPs are seriously injured and are receiving emergency medical attention,” said parliament's spokesperson Moloto Mothapo.

ANC's deputy chief whip Doris Dlakude was expected to visit the injured in hospital. 

Political parties have shared their condolences the families affected by the accident. 

The ANC, NFP and the ACDP have expressed their sadness and condolences.
