Johannesburg – The African National Congress on Monday released its discussion documents ahead of its upcoming national general council’s (NGC) conference in October.

“All these documents and resolutions of successive ANC conferences create a framework for the South Africa we envision,” Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe told journalists in Johannesburg.

“This NGC is convened in fulfilment of the resolution taken at the ANC’s 50th national conference in Mahikeng in 1997.”

Radebe added that one of the main focus for the council was job creation.

“Our main focus and priority areas were identified as the creation of more jobs, decent work and sustainable livelihoods for inclusive growth.”

The discussion documents would be posted on the ANC website for everyone to access. The upcoming conference had been postponed previously, which the party said it was due to conferences of other organisations such as the ANC Women’s League and the ANC Youth League being organised.

The party’s NGC conference would be held between 9 and 12 October in Midrand, Johannesburg.
