Cabinet has congratulated Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on her election as African Union commission chairwoman.

“Cabinet echoes the sentiments of President Jacob Zuma, who said 'Dr Dlamini Zuma, who has served our country with distinction, becomes the servant of the continent and accountable to the AU',” government spokesman Jimmy Manyi told journalists on Thursday.

“Cabinet wishes her well as she steers the AU commission behind a common vision of unity and championing the African agenda,” Manyi said.
