Pretoria - No political party liberated South Africans, the Economic Freedom Fighters' Gauteng premier candidate Dali Mpofu said on Sunday.

“Nobody liberated you. The people of South Africa liberated themselves,” Mpofu told thousands of supporters at the party's Tshela Thupa rally in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

“Don't be told by any organisation that they liberated you.”

Mpofu said the EFF was a generation's movement with a mission. He said each and every generation was faced with a mission which they had to choose to fulfil or neglect.

“This generation is fighting for political emancipation.”

Mpofu attacked the media and accused it of favouring the ruling party.

He said all television stations chose to broadcast live the African National Congress's Siyanqoba Rally at FNB, and not his party's rally.

“Expect no favours from the media. The revolution will not be televised. It is in our hearts,” he said. - Sapa
