Johannesburg - International relations Deputy Minister Marius Fransman will visit Arcueil, Paris, on Friday to attend a ceremony in honour of anti-apartheid activist Dulcie September, the department of international relations said.

“For this year's ceremony an extensive programme has been planned in honour of the anti-apartheid stalwart at the Dulcie September College and at the town hall in Arcueil,” said departmental spokesman Clayson Monyela.

September, who was assassinated on March 29, 1988, in Arcueil, was posthumously honoured by the South African government in 2009 for her work on the promotion of equality and human rights.

She was awarded the National Order of Mendi for her contribution to the struggle. - Sapa
