ANC Youth League President Julius "Blockbuster" Malema - infamous for mouthing off - will visit the koeksister monument in Orania at the weekend.

With the ANC hardly enjoying any support in the town, one Kimberley resident compared the irony to having Eugene Terreblanche vying for support in Soweto.

Call it public relations if you will, as this will be Malema's first visit to the Afrikaner stronghold.

Malema and his entourage will hold discussions with the youth of the Freedom Front Plus, where he will "engage with minorities as part of the initiative to build one nation and a common sense of patriotism".

The youth league has also termed this "historic mission" a quest to unite black and white forces.

Freedom Front provincial leader Carel Boshoff IV said Malema would be as welcome as any other guest would be.

He was quick to point out that according to their understanding, this was not an ANC election rally per se, but rather an opportunity to engage on issues affecting the youth.
