Pretoria - More than 18 million South Africans voted in provincial and national elections on Wednesday, the country's fifth democratic elections.

Electoral Commission of SA chairwoman Pansy Tlakula announced the final results on Saturday evening.

The total number of valid votes cast was 18 402 497.

The number of spoilt votes was 251 960.

Voter turnout was 73 43 percent out of a registered population of 25 381 293.

Here’s a list of each party with the number of votes and percentage of total votes it received.

*ANC 11 436 921- 62.15%

* DA 4 091 584 - 22.23%

* EFF 1 169 259 - 6.35%

* IFP 441 854 - 2.40%

* NFP 288 742 - 1.57%
