Nzimande re-elected as #SACP secretary general

Johannesburg - The SA Communist Party leaders were re-elected unopposed at the party's congress in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni on Wednesday.

Blade Nzimande, Thulas Nxesi, Senzeni Zokwana and Joyce Moloi-Moropa were re-elected as secretary general, deputy national chairperson, national chairperson, and national treasurer respectively.

Solly Mapaila replaced Jeremy Cronin as first deputy general secretary while Chris Matlhako was elected as second deputy general secretary. Matlhako is a member of the central executive committee, and served as secretary for international relations.

Cronin stepped down from party leadership and did not stand for re-election.

All leaders were elected unopposed.
