Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma's office says although it expected the outcome of the Supreme Court of Appeal's ruling, which confirmed the irrationality of the decision to drop corruption charges against Zuma, it is still disappointed with the judgment.
The SCA ruled on Friday that the judgment handed down by the Gauteng High Court last year was correct.
Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) had approached the SCA to appeal a judgment handed down by the Gauteng High Court which found that former NPA head Mokotedi Mpshe took an irrational decision when he decided to let Zuma of the hook for the 783 counts on 18 charges of corruption.
The presidency said in a statement, that it was clear from the SCA ruling that the National Director of Public Prosecutions had used the wrong provisions of the law to drop the charges against Zuma.

"The effect of the decision is that the only legitimate decision made by the NPA is to prosecute President Zuma. Importantly, it means that the representations have not been considered and the expectation is that the NDPP will now consider these representations under the correct prescripts of the law and make a legitimate decision relating thereto."
"Any person has the right to make such representations and an expectation that a legitimate decision will be made."
"These representations will be amplified in light of developments in the ensuing period, not least of all are the recent revelations around the integrity of the audit report which underpins the prosecution," said the presidency.
Meanwhile political parties have reacted with calls for Zuma to face his day in court.
The DA, EFF and the UDM welcomed the SCA ruling, but pointed out their doubts about the NPA’s credibility.
