Bloemfontein - Businessman Cyril Ramaphosa was elected the ANC's new deputy president on Tuesday.

He received 3018 votes against Tokyo Sexwale's 463 and Mathews Phosa's 470.

He would take over from current deputy president Kgalema Motlanthe.

Motlanthe was nominated for the position, but withdrew his candidacy on Monday. - Sapa
