Limpopo - A report back on Limpopo textbooks was received by Section27 and the Basic Education Department from Professor Mary Metcalfe on Friday, the organisations said in a joint statement.

Section 27 spokesman Mark Heywood thanked Metcalfe and her team for the job done.

Section 27 and the department are expected to send their comments on the draft to Metcalfe by 6pm on Saturday.

In the statement, they said Metcalfe would send her final report to both parties on Sunday. It would be made public on Monday.

“The people of the country and particularly Limpopo will have to make their judgements on Monday, and I will give a public comment on Monday as well,” Heywood said.

He said he could not give public comment on the report before it was issued on Monday.

Department spokesman Panyaza Lesufi said he could also not say anything before then.

Metcalfe's task team was established to look into the delivery of textbooks in Limpopo where some pupils were without learning material seven months into the school year. - Sapa
