A critical ANC caucus meeting is currently underway in parliament on Monday.

The gathering is expected to discuss and possibly delay the introduction of the contentious secrecy bill to the National Assembly.

ANC Chief Whip Mathole Motshekga will be addressing the media thereafter.

There was a relaxed atmosphere outside parliament’s old assembly chambers as Members of Parliament (MPs) hurdled together exchanging banter before getting down to serious business.

ANC MP Lluwellyn Landers who was involved in drafting the secrecy bill, smiled at reporters as he walked into the chamber with a thick file in his hand.

Landers and his colleagues are currently locked behind closed doors deliberating among others, the contagious legislation.

It is on the parliamentary agenda for debate on Tuesday but there has been talk it may be delayed. - Eye Witness News
