Cape Town - The National Assembly which President Jacob Zuma will be addressing later on Thursday has already erupted into chants.

MPs from various parties were shouting slogans.

All eyes will be on Zuma’s State of the Nation Address which is expected to be disrupted by Economic Freedom Fighter MPs.

EFF leader Julius Malema has warned that he will attempt to stop Zuma from addressing the House until he answers when he will pay back money many believe he owes for security upgrades to his Nkandla compound in KwaZulu-Natal.

If that does happen, it will be up to Speaker Baleba Mbete to decide whether she will show Malema and the EFF’s other 23 MPs the door.

Parliament has never experienced such high security since the dawn of democracy in 1994.
