Johannesburg - A second murder case against Limpopo businessman Rameez Patel was postponed in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto said the matter was postponed to August 11 for bail application.

Patel, who is out on bail for the alleged murder of his wife Fatima, was arrested on Friday for the killing of Westenburg resident, Tony Adams in 2013.

Otto said Adams was last seen entering Patel’s yard.

“He was then assaulted with a hockey stick, his body was dumped at a supermarket parking lot in the area,” she said.

Patel is accused of killing his wife at their Nirvana townhouse complex in Polokwane in April. He told the court that he was innocent and that his wife was killed by robbers. The Polokwane businessman is out on bail of R250 000 and was expected to appear in court on September 22.

Otto said the body of Fatima Patel was exhumed last week for forensic tests.
