Willowvale - A man convicted of raping a 17-year-girl has been jailed for 15 years by the Willowvale Regional Magistrate's Court, Eastern Cape police said on Friday.
Captain Jackson Manatha said Mncedi Quqani, 23, was sentenced on Wednesday for the rape, which took place on December 18, 2010.
Quqani attacked the girl while she was playing with friends in Willowvale, and dragged her to his home in Centane.
“He raped her the entire night and only released her the following morning,” Manatha said in a statement.
He was later arrested and charged with rape.
Manatha said the sentence was a stern warning to would-be sexual offenders that the law would deal with them accordingly.
