Johannesburg - The Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) on Wednesday condemned the continuing attacks on foreign nationals in some areas in the country.

“There can be no justification whatsoever for these criminal and backward act, including xenophobia,” COSATU acting general secretary Bheki Ntshalitshali told journalists at a joint briefing with the SA Communist Party in Johannesburg.

Ntshalitshali called on law enforcement authorities to act.

“Similarly, we call on all our structures across the country to come out in defence of peace, and in pursuit of peace,” he said.
