Johannesburg - Six motorists were arrested by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s speed unit along the N14 on Sunday, JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said.

“The highest speed was a Yamaha motorcycle rider caught at 175km/h,” Minnaar said.

Three motorists were detained at the Diepsloot police station, while the other three who were arrested on the N1 North, near Beyers Naude offramp, were detained at the Honeydew police station.

They were released on bail of between R1 000 and R1 500 and would appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court this week.
