Pretoria - The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Inspectorate Office and the Hawks raided the Hillbrow and Kempton Park offices of what is believed to be a bogus doctor.

At the practice in Kempton Park, three Congolese nationals were found to be practicing illegally and were not registered with HPCSA.

Large amounts of medication, including ARVs, found on the premises were seized.

Medical certificates for Professional Driving Permits (PDP’s) were also discovered.

This indicated that the certificates for PDP were fraudulently being issued under the bogus doctor's name and details and then sold for cash.

The doctor and the three Congolese nationals were arrested and taken into custody at the Kempton Park SAPS.
