Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape police are searching for suspects who killed a 76-year-old man during an attack on an elderly couple at their home in Schoenmakerskop, Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the incident happened during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Naidu said that a 76-year-old man was allegedly shot in his face and died at the scene. During the attack, a 78-year-old woman was severely assaulted and is in a critical condition at hospital.
"At this stage it is also not known what has been taken from the house. Police are investigating a case of murder and robbery," said Naidu.
Police are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact Walmer SAPS or Crimestop.
