Fatal crash in Eastern Cape claims two lives

Port Elizabeth – East London police in the Eastern Cape are investigating a case of culpable homicide, as well as reckless and negligent driving, following a fatal car accident on the R72 near Gulu holiday resort which left two people dead.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Office Hazel Mqala, said two male passengers were declared dead on the scene on Monday after a bakkie collided with a sedan.

Mqala said that there were five people travelling in the sedan, two of whom died, while the other three were rushed to hospital in a serious condition. Mqala said passengers traveling in the bakkie sustained minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.
