Johannesburg - A 56-year-old man was killed when his jacket got caught in the drive shaft of a tractor on a farm near Uitenhage, Eastern Cape police said on Friday.
Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said the man was spraying insecticide in orchards in Kirkwood on Thursday night when he noticed a problem with the spraying machine.
He stopped the tractor to see to the problem, but left the engine idling.
His jacket got hooked by the drive shaft and it pulled him in, killing him instantly, said Swart.
