Manhunt launched after Office of the Sheriff robbed in NMB
Port Elizabeth - Police in Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape are on a manhunt for five gunmen who robbed the local sheriff's office.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the five men wearing blue overalls and wielding firearms, stormed into the office of the sheriff in Cannon Street on Thursday morning.
Nkohli said one of the suspects held the employees at gunpoint, while the others ransacked the office. Nkohli said the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cellphones before fleeing in a white bakkie with an orange light on the roof.
Police are urging anyone with information which could lead to their arrest to contact the nearest police station.
