Police hunt family of man found hanging from tree

Port Elizabeth - Police in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape have opened an inquest docket after a man was found hanging from a tree on Wednesday morning. 

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that Humewood detectives were urgently seeking the next of kin of an unidentified coloured male who was found hanging from a tree in Upper Valley Road in South End.

Naidu said it was alleged that at about 08:00, two people were walking near an open space in Upper Valley Road when they noticed the male between 25 and 30 years old.

Naidu said it was suspected that the deceased may be a vagrant and was living in the bushes nearby. 

Police have opened an inquest docket.

Anyone who can assist police in identifying the person is asked to contact SAPS Humewood.
