Johannesburg - Eskom announced it has started stage 1 load shedding in some areas due to high demand and urgent maintenance being performed at certain power stations.

The load shedding will take place from 11am until 10pm on Friday night, Eskom said on its website

“We would like to appeal to customers to reduce their electricity usage as much as they can, as it will ease the pressure on the system,” the power utility said.

Load-shedding schedules can be found via the following websites: www.eskom.co.za and www.loadshedding.eskom.co.za. - IOL
