Johannesburg - Former SABC newscaster Christopher Dingle, 66, has died at home in Orange Grove, Johannesburg.
A close friend of his, Robert Blair, said it appeared that he died of an asthma attack on Tuesday.
The Zambian-born Dingle was a well-known broadcaster in the early years of South African television and presented a programme on Radio Today and for Radio South Africa.
He earned the unusual distinction of being the first presenter to say “f**k” on South African television. He was under the impression he was off-air at the time.
Since retiring from broadcasting in the early 1990s, he had worked as a website manager. - Sapa
