Johannesburg – Five women in possession of Lesotho passports were found dead inside their car after it overturned along the R26 road between Senekal and Rosendal, police said on Monday.
"On Saturday 11 March 2017 at about 19:05 we attended a vehicle accident scene at R26 road between Senekal and Rosendal where five women were found dead inside an overturned blue Ford Fingo sedan vehicle with registration no DB 80 PP GP," said Captain Phumelelo Dhlamini, who is stationed at Ficksburg.
"The cause of accident is unknown at this stage and we are investigating a case of culpable homicide."
Dhlamini said police found five Lesotho passports inside the vehicle.
"It is believed that they may be Lesotho nationals and might have been traveling from Gauteng to Lesotho."
Police are asking anyone who has information about the accident and the deceased to contact detective constable Keketsi of Senekal detectives at 073 444 9619 or at 058 4816 219.
