Johannesburg - The R59 highway in Vereeniging was blocked by vehicles in support of the Black Monday campaign to petition the number of farm murders.

AfriForum revealed that there have been 70 farmers murdered and 341 attacks since January.

The Midvaal Mayor Bongani Baloyi was issued with a memorandum from the protesters and officials have managed to clear the road.

The protest‚ #BlackMonday‚ was derived a video by Chris Loubser‚ a farm manager from Franschhoek‚ whose friend had been killed.

Sarel de Beer, a farmer in support of the campaign said he stood in support of the entire initiative. "I want to show the world that blacks are killing the boers. I have also been personally affected by this violence," he said.
