Johannesburg - A six-month old boy was killed after he was bitten multiple times by a dog, paramedics said on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly took place at around 8.15am at the boy's home in Primose.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived at the scene, they were lead into the lounge where they found the body of the child.
"Paramedics assessed the young boy and found that he had sustained several serious bite wounds and showed no signs of life.
"Unfortunately, the boy had already succumbed to his injuries. Nothing more could be done and he was declared dead."
It was unclear what led to the attack at this stage, Meiring said.
He added however, that local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
