Johannesburg - The trial of six suspects accused of murdering actor Dumisani Masilela will get under way in the North Gauteng High Court on Monday.
The trial, set to run until October 19, comes months after police arrested the last suspect in connection with the actor's murder in Ekurhuleni.
Mashudu Malema, 34, appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court in August and will now join co-accused Mfundo Nkosi, Bongani Masumbuka and Solly Mukhuba on trial.
Masilela was fatally shot during a hijacking in Tembisa.
Police were able to establish that a total of six suspects were behind the murder. Initially, four suspects were arrested last year, while the fifth suspect died in a robbery.
All the suspects had been positively linked to five cases the murder of Masilela; three car hijackings, reported in Daveyton, Phokeng and Siyabuswa, and a case in Boitekong of possession of a stolen cellphone.
