A fourth person believed to have participated in the attack of a woman and the killing of her son has been arrested, Limpopo police said.

The 30-year-old was arrested in a pre-dawn raid in Hammanskral on Saturday, said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

He was believed to be one of three workers forced at gunpoint to gang-rape the woman, allegedly acting on the instruction of her estranged husband Johan Kotze.

Kotze had been on the run since the January 4 incident and was arrested on Wednesday. Later that day a second person was apprehended.

The pair appeared in the Modimolle Magistrate's Court on Friday and the case was postponed to February 10.

Later in the day, police arrested another person in Hammanskral for involvement in the crime. - Sapa
