Johannesburg - Married murder accused Sandile Mantsoe, who allegedly killed his girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, burnt her body and buried her in a shallow grave.briefly appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday where his matter was transferred to the South Gauteng High Court for trial.

The 27-year-old father of three has been behind bars for about three months. He  was brought to court to receive his indictment so that the matter could be moved to the high court for trial.

On Wednesday, Mantsoe, who is being held at the Johannesburg Prison appeared via video link, but Magistrate Piet du Plessis insisted that the accused be brought to court to receive the indictment in person.

The forex trader is facing charges of premeditated murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and defeating the ends of justice.

During the brief appearance on Thursday, Du Plessis told the murder accused that his matter was being moved to the high court for trial.

Mantsoe has denied killing his girlfriend but admits disposing her body.

The matter will be heard in the South Gauteng High Court on September 15.
