President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived at the Union Buildings in Pretoria and has accepted the memorandum of demands from the organisers of the #TotalShutdown march.
Earlier, protesters staged a sit-in after clashes with police who tried to disperse them from the lawns of the Union Buildings. They booed Minister Naledi Pandor when she came out to accept the memorandum. The women insisted on speaking directly with the president.
